Description
This course will introduce students to the importance of child observation and program assessment, including data gathering and analysis, and the culturally appropriate use of data to inform curriculum development, program practices, and communication with families. Using the Observation, Assessment, and Planning Cycle, students will explore how to use child assessment results to impact teaching strategies and overall program quality. Students will investigate various research-based assessment tools currently used in early childhood to assess children and programs.
This course meets the Council for Professional Recognition CDA Subject Area 7.
