Description

The foundation of child guidance is understanding the progression of social-emotional development, responsive relationships, and the context and characteristics of each child. This course focuses on developmentally appropriate practices that promote positive and culturally sensitive interactions with children and reciprocal partnerships with families. There is an additional emphasis on the Pyramid Model framework, including high-quality environments, targeted skills, explicit instruction, and inclusion of all children to promote social-emotional health and reduce challenging behaviors and expulsion.

Prerequisite: CHLD 103 Child Development (3-8 yrs)
