This course is designed to examine the characteristics and responsibilities of an early childhood administrator both as a leader and manager for high-quality education programs for young children and their families, including children with disabilities, developmental delays, and language and/or cultural differences. Establishing and maintaining a positive and inclusive program climate, and ethical program operations will be addressed. Professionalism will be emphasized, including continued professional development and reflecting on the NAEYC Standards and Competencies and the Michigan standards and frameworks. An intentional emphasis is placed on family engagement and community partnerships including relationship-building and shared resources. This course meets the requirements for the Council for Professional Recognition/ CDA Subject Areas 4, 5, 6, and 8 Prerequisite(s): CHLD 136 & CHLD 236
