Description

This course will provide students the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to identify proper nutrition and instruct patients according to their dietary needs. Students will gain an understanding of dietary nutrients, supplements, dietary needs, and medical diet programs (i.e., Dash and ADA diets). Prerequisite: CMAC 104, CMAC 106, CMAC 108, CMAC 110, and officially accepted into the Certified Medical Assistant Certificate program and following the required sequence of courses, E, M and R. Corequisite: To progress in the program, the student must maintain a grade of "C" or better in Certified Medical Assistant program courses and demonstrate a minimum of 100% attainment of all psychomotor and affective domain competencies.
