Description
A survey of the outstanding authors and poets in the tradition of American literature. Special attention will be given to the social and intellectual backgrounds which were instrumental in shaping both the content and style employed by American writers from Franklin to the present. Frequent written response to the literature is expected. This is an honors course which requires additional work and academic rigor. Meets the humanities requirement. Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Honors Program, E, R.
