Description

This course introduces the student to the foundational and governing principles of pharmacology in nursing across the lifespan. In this course, students will be introduced to the concepts of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics; as well as, major drug classes and their prototypes.
Students will also gain an understanding of the importance of safe medication administration, including correct dosage calculations, patient teaching and medication administration skills in keeping with current guidelines and standards that govern nursing practice. To progress in the program, the student must maintain a grade of C or better in General Education and ADN program courses.
