Description

This course uses the sociological perspective to analyze marriage and family life in contemporary America. Students will learn to see the societal influence found in marriage and family by reading, writing, and studying about gender roles and sexuality, historical and economic patterns affecting the family, singlehood, parenting, divorce and remarriage, and culture/ethnic differences. Meets the Social & Behavioral Science requirement. Prerequisite: SOCY 151
