Description

This course is designed to prepare students for MATH 110 College Algebra or MATH 140 Precalculus. It is a study of linear inequalities, systems of linear inequalities, rational expressions and equations, rational exponents, radical expressions/equations and functions, complex numbers, quadratic equations and functions, quadratic and rational inequalities, exponential expressions/equations and functions, logarithmic expressions/equations and functions, basic function translations, and related applications. This course may be used as an elective course; however, it does not fulfill the mathematics requirement for the Associate of Arts or the Associate of Science degree, nor the MTA agreement. A scientific calculator is required. Prerequisite: "C" or better in MATH 095 or MATH 098, appropriate score on a math placement test, or meet current minimum H.S. GPA requirement (see an advisor)
