Description
This course provides foundational knowledge to prepare the practical nurse for providing evidenced-based care to diverse patient populations across the lifespan within the framework of the nursing process. Current and historical issues and practices impacting the scope of nursing practice with a focus on understanding the role, scope of practice, and professional responsibilities and expectations of the practical nurse are explored. Concurrent: This course is designed to be taken concurrently with NURS 106, NURS 109, NURS 111, and NURS 112. To progress in the program, the student must maintain a grade of C or better in Practical Nursing program courses. Prerequisite: Officially accepted into the Practical Nursing Certificate program and following the required sequence of courses.
