Description

This course provides foundational knowledge and skills to prepare PN students to effectively and safely perform common tasks performed by the PN in the clinical setting. This is a lab course in which students will learn and demonstrate skills associated with physical assessment and patient care in keeping with current LPN Scope and Standards of Practice, the NCLEX PN Study Plan, and industry expectations in providing care. Students will explore and apply basic principles of clinical judgment in developing a plan of care based on assessment findings and in performing various interventions utilizing skills learned in this course to prepare them for clinical practice. Concurrent: This course is designed to be taken concurrently with NURS 110 Essentials of Practical Nursing, and NURS 112 Essential Practical Nursing Clinic.
