Description

The purpose of this course is to gain a basic understanding of nursing informatics and its application to education, research and practice in nursing and health occupation professions. Topics will include computer and informatics literacy, informatics competencies, application of informatics to healthcare trends. Competencies taught will meet the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice (ANA, 2010) for beginning nurses. Must have a basic knowledge of computer and office software.
