Description

In this course, students will study the extent, causes, and possible solutions to social problems in the United States. The course is divided into four sections that address explaining social problems, inequality, deviance, and institutional/global issues. Throughout the course students will be required to apply sociological theory and will be required to complete a research paper on a social problem of their choosing. Meets the Social & Behavioral Science requirement. Prerequisite: SOCY-151
