EMT Admissions Process

Hello,

The EMT program has a competitive process to enter.  This is a competitive entry program, students must apply to Allied Health's EMT program by selecting Apply Online to the left of the screen. This competitive process is called Bay's EMT rolling admissions.  The office of Allied Health awards students a seat in the program once an application is on file and rolling admissions criteria is met, no later than June of each year.

Bay's EMT Rolling Admissions process requires students to have completed the following steps:

  • Have an established cumulative GPA at or above a 2.75. GPA is measured on the most recent high school transcript or college/university transcript that consists of at least 12 college-level earned credits. If multiple College transcripts the most current transcript with 12 or more credits is used.  All EMT program courses previously completed must have a grade of “C” or better.
  • Submit a valid Drivers License and Driving Record
  • Additional if awarded students must meet the Background check, drug testing and immunization requirements, all directions provided during the awarding of a seat in the program. NOTICE: MICHIGAN PUBLIC ACTS 27, 28, and 29 of 2006 for Clinical Experiences requires Bay College to provide our affiliating agencies with students who have no prohibited offenses (www.miltcpartnership.com).

The EMT program is not only competitive entry, but you must also follow a sequence of courses to progress each semester. The EMT certificate is a two semester program and you can see the sequencing by following going to the Catalog and scroll down to course sequencing, first semester, second semester. After reviewing the course sequencing if you decide to apply to the program you are welcome to Apply by choosing Apply Online from the left of this screen and then select the EMT application tab.
